How to set up your wordpress blog

Admin account removal : When you installed wordpress, a default administrator account is created. Remove the default admin account created during the installation to avoid wordpress hackers target your admin account. It is easy to remove your admin account by default. Go to users, hover your mouse over the admin account and click Remove. Your account admin will be deleted.

Hide directories: Use htaccess to prevent people from accessing your directory and add a blank index.html file in each directory so that even if someone gains access to your directory , they will find a blank page with no content to the inside.

Turn off remote publishing : If you do not use an external editor for blog post on a web site or Remote Desktop Client blogging disable XML-RPC and Atom Publishing Protocol found under Settings writing options.

Blog comments: There are about seven to eight parameters that are relevant to the blog comments and I recommend that you allow comments on your blog and maintain because they increase the value of the article. Approve blog comments : Either an e -mail alert to tell you whenever someone adds a comment on your article so that you are informed and can respond to comments . You can have the power to approve all comments on your article before it becomes . It is a good practice that will prevent spam and inappropriate content in our comments area .


Installing wordpress theme : Good blog content as well as attractive blog go hand in hand for a successful blog. Wordpress offers free themes that you install a lot at any time easily or you can buy a premium theme . Choose a theme that is compatible with the version of WordPress that you have installed. Installing theme is easy and you can find a multitude of themes in your Wordpress dashboard . Go to Appearance > Themes. Installing theme requires you to download the theme via FTP and activate the same .

Install wordpress plugins : Add appropriate plugins that will help you keep your wordpress blog set , generating traffic to your articles BlogFree reprint , update your version of the current installation automatically and many others.
